Mare’s Barrel Racing
Barrel Racing is a rodeo event in which the pony attempts to complete a pattern around preset barrels in the fastest time. This event tests the pony’s athletic ability by challenging the Rider to safely and successfully maneuver the Pony through a clover leaf pattern around three barrels placed in a triangle in the center of an arena.
The timer begins when pony crosses the start line, and ends when the barrel pattern has been successfully executed and pony and “rider” cross the finish line. Penalties are assessed for rubbing, moving or knocking over the barrels.
